Ed Rust
Yorkshire-based British sculptor whose distinctive figures bring movement, humour and personality to everyday moments. From footballers in full stride to dog walkers pulled along by enthusiastic companions, his work captures familiar experiences with a playful eye.
Having studied at Batley Art College, Ed developed a strong interest in sculpture, drawing inspiration from Barbara Hepworth. His elongated figures have also been compared to those of Alberto Giacometti. Through stretched proportions and expressive poses, he creates sculptures that seem caught in the middle of an action, full of energy and character.
Ed’s work spans bronze, wire and wood, alongside his handmade ceramic Stoneheads. Whether depicting a sporting moment, a family outing or a quietly curious character, his sculptures invite recognition, spark memories and bring a smile.
