Nick Saltmer

Nick Saltmer’s journey into art has been unconventional. Gifted at drawing from an early age, he left school without a clear plan and chose a sheet-metal apprenticeship over art college, quickly filling his workbooks with sketches rather than technical notes. He later returned to study graphic design, spending many years in busy studios where his illustrations added energy and character to layouts. After redundancy in 1992, he freelanced before establishing his own design business. A major highlight was appearing as a wildcard on Sky Landscape Artist of the Year in Llanberis. Nick also illustrates book covers for bestselling author Victoria Twead and creates children’s activity books. Painting and drawing provide calm, creative freedom inspired by meaningful places, familiar scenes, and loved ones.
